Summary

The Role
We are hiring a Senior Manager for our Modern Work practice. You will own engagements across endpoint management, Exchange Online and messaging, and Microsoft 365 collaboration. Rather than embedding on a single account, you will carry a focused portfolio of client projects, moving through different environments and problems throughout the year. This is a senior individual contributor role. You will mentor junior and mid-level consultants, set delivery standards, and have real input into how the practice is built. For the right person, this is the on-ramp to practice leadership.

What You Will Do

Delivery

You will manage a portfolio of client engagements, owning technical direction, client communication, and outcomes from kickoff to handoff.

The technical scope spans all three Modern Work pillars:

  • Lead Exchange Online migrations from on-premises environments, including those with single-label Active Directory domains, on-prem relay dependencies, and hybrid configurations that need a clean decommission after cutover.
  • Design and execute endpoint modernization programs: AD-joined to Entra ID-joined, comanagement transitions from ConfigMgr to Intune, BYOD scenarios with MAM-only policy design.
  • Run content migrations from third-party SaaS platforms, on-prem file servers, and similare cosystems into SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Do the pre-migration assessment that finds the problems before they become blockers.
  • Work through post-merger M365 environments: tenant consolidations, domain cutover sequencing, and cross-tenant mail and content migration.
  • Build adoption and change management into every engagement from day one. Technology that does not get used is a failed project regardless of how well it was configured.
  • Define success metrics before implementation starts and report against them through close. If the client cannot tell whether the engagement worked, that is a delivery problem.
  • Recognize when an engagement needs deeper identity or security expertise and pull in the right resource.
  • Manage the handoff between delivery services to managed services or Client SMEs.
  • Contribute to proposals and pre-sales where your technical depth makes the engagement
    credible.

Mentoring and Practice Development

  • Give structured feedback to junior and mid-level consultants on your engagements. Explain
the reasoning, hold the bar, and check whether it sticks.
  • Help define what good delivery looks like: what documentation survives a handoff,
what a clean close-out requires, what client communication standards we hold ourselves to.
  • Manage Practice financial performance and annual budgets.
  • Own and advance Modern Work delivery standards: runbooks, engagement
templates, and methodology improvements that outlast the individual engagement.
  • Network with Microsoft or partner contacts monthly.

Strategic Contribution

  • Bring a point of view on where the Modern Work stack is heading, particularly around Copilot
readiness and the data governance work that gates responsible enablement. Translate that
    into client-appropriate recommendations.
  • Conduct Copilot readiness assessments: oversharing remediation in SharePoint, sensitivity
labeling strategy, Entra ID access reviews, and permission cleanup before enablement. The
clients who want to move fast on Copilot are the ones who most need someone to tell them
    why that is a mistake.
  • When you spot a delivery pattern across engagements, write it down. Add it to how does this work, not just how you personally do it.

What You Will Bring

Eight or more years delivering Microsoft solutions for mid-market or enterprise clients in a client-facing consulting capacity.

Your technical depth runs through at least two of the three Modern Work pillars (endpoint, messaging, collaboration), with enough range across all three to lead any of them. Secondary depth in Entra ID and Microsoft security is expected: you can guide a client conversation on identity and know when to escalate.

  • You have run projects, not just participated in them: scope management, stakeholder
communication, and the ability to deliver bad news without losing the relationship.
  • Post-merger M365 work is in your history, whether a tenant consolidation, cross-tenant collaboration setup, or M&A IT integration. You can speak to what actually makes those hard.
  • Change management on a Modern Work deployment is delivery, not overhead. Scheduling one training session and calling it adoption is how engagements fail quietly.
  • You can build a client-facing roadmap that connects technology decisions to business outcomes. Not a feature list. An actual business case.
  • You have coached consultants who improved because of your feedback, not just your proximity. You can name what you did and what changed.
  • You have a consistent method for running a project and can explain it.
  • You have opinions about where the Modern Work stack is heading and will defend them in a client meeting.

Microsoft certifications are a plus. We will support you in earning them if you do not have them yet. We care far more about what you have built and what you have fixed.

What Sets You Apart

  • You have grown something others depended on. A practice, a team, a capability. You can point to what it looked like before you and what it became.
  • Youre an excellent communicator.
  • You have a unique approach to understanding, communicating, and fixing problems.
  • You have delivered as part of a cross-functional product or solution team. You have experience and understand Agile delivery methodologies, frameworks, and practices.
  • You have worked across more than one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or similar) and can speak to the tradeoffs.
  • Additional experience integrating with MSP or MSSP is a differentiator.
  • You have done Copilot readiness work: oversharing cleanup, data classification, sensitivity labeling. And you can describe what actually gates a responsible rollout versus what is theater.
  • If you have built anything in Copilot Studio or led an M365 Copilot adoption program for a mid-market client, say so in your application.
