Job Summary Imperva Security Engineer
- Direct Ownership of Imperva DAM:
- Lead responsibility for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Imperva Database Activity Monitoring (DAM)/SecureSphere platform.
- Hands-on experience in platform operations, not just WAF or keyword-level exposure.
- Comprehensive Database Expertise:
- In-depth, recent hands-on knowledge of SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and Teradata databases.
- Proficiency in database architecture, querying, logging mechanisms, and system catalogs.
- Ability to investigate missing activity, close monitoring gaps, and collaborate with DBAs.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Experience in reconciling database inventories with DAM coverage.
- Skilled at identifying and resolving unmonitored assets, agent outages, and logging issues.
- Capable of detailed diagnostics and restoration of monitoring.
- Practical Automation Skills:
- Developed automated health checks, monitoring verification processes, reports, or operational workflows.
- Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and/or REST APIs to enhance operational efficiency.
- Security Judgment & Follow-Through:
- Ability to detect and remediate policy drift or security baseline weaknesses.
- Proven track record of recommending security enhancements and validating their effectiveness.
- Experience managing complex vendor escalations, upgrades, and bug fixes to resolution.
- Preferred Background:
- Target candidates with roles such as Imperva DAM Engineer, Database Security Engineer, Database Activity Monitoring Engineer, SecureSphere Administrator, or DBA with direct Imperva DAM experience.
- Strong combination of database, platform engineering, troubleshooting, and automation skills.
