Responsibilities

• Lead a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of multiple applications. Perform and lead the detailed technical design, coding, code review, and testing of new applications and enhancements of existing applications.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for specified systems and their subsequent applications. Develop and analyze interface design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with hardware and software systems standards and procedures. Deliver large systems for tens of thousands of users while ensuring compliance with dev/sec/ops practices and policies.
• Understand architectural practices and design to support scalable, efficient solutions.
• Identify gaps in requirements and solve problems for supporting staff. Evaluate risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation actions. Develop ways to improve performance and system availability.
• Support the Project Manager as the technical team lead, including estimating project costs, conferring with clients, and translating stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
• Lead software design and development teams, managing resources, planning transformations to new architectures, and ensuring adherence to code quality and deployment standards.
• Extend open-source libraries, guide product scoping, and continually evaluate emerging technologies for best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and play a crucial role in architecture discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science; or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 8 years of software design, development, testing, and requirements management experience.
• Expertise in Java (4-6 years), intermediate experience with Python (2-4 years), SOAP (2-4 years).
• Proficiency with Spring Boot, Jenkins/CloudBees, X12 claims 835.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), database technologies (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), and SDLC.
• Experience with cloud deployment, CI/CD pipelines, TDD/BDD, and automated testing.
• Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly at all levels, with excellent collaboration and relationship management skills.
• Proven capacity to evaluate risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement industry best practices.
• Experience deploying global applications and managing configuration.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, C, Python, and deep understanding of software engineering best practices.
