Description
The IT Field Support Specialist will focus on physical IT infrastructure readiness, including workstation deployments, printer setup, Epic print routing support, and remediation of PC and printer outages during active renovations. This position requires a strong hardware background, comfort working in construction environments, and the ability to execute large scale deployments with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Provide on site IT field support across LBJ and Ben Taub renovation projects
Support environments where PCs, printers, or peripherals may be fully down, requiring immediate hands on remediation
Deploy, configure, and replace desktops, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, and peripherals
Install, configure, and troubleshoot HP desktop printers supporting Epic workflows
Support Epic print routing and service mapping from a hardware and device connectivity perspective
Ensure IT readiness for renovated or newly constructed rooms, including full workstation and printer setup
Spin up and deploy anywhere from 10 to 1,000+ devices across clinical and administrative spaces
Support conference room A/V equipment and shared workspaces as part of renovation scope
Perform physical IT work including equipment moves, room rebuilds, and device remediation
Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and facilities staff to meet renovation timelines
Assist with outage response and post construction stabilization efforts
Provide guidance or direction to junior field technicians as needed
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands on hardware support experience in enterprise or healthcare environments
Proficiency supporting:
o HP desktop printers
o Desktop and laptop hardware
o Dual and single monitor configurations
o Peripherals (keyboards, mice, docking stations)
Familiarity with Epic supported environments, specifically how hardware and printers support clinical workflows
Experience troubleshooting printer connectivity and routing issues tied to Epic printing
Comfort working in active construction or renovation environments
Ability to perform physical IT work, including lifting, installing, and relocating equipment
Experience working in fast paced, outage driven or deployment heavy settings
Preferred Experience
Level III desktop support or field services background
Prior healthcare or hospital IT experience
Experience supporting renovation, expansion, or facility modernization projects
Ability to lead deployment efforts or act as an on site technical point of contact
Experience coordinating work with project managers and construction timelines
Additional Skills & Qualifications
TDR (Technical Dress Rehearsal) experience is not required - but nice to have
Role emphasizes hardware execution and field readiness rather than Epic application build
Position is fully on-site due to the physical nature of renovation and deployment work

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
