Manager s Notes:
What work locations are you open to?
This position will be in Sunnyvale, Building 103. It is REQUIRED that the person be onsite to complete their SOW (hours are 9:00am-5:30pm).
Provide me the top 2-3 requisite skills this person will need
- Perform delicate assembly of consumer electronic devices, following defined SOPs
- Adapt to a daily changing statement of work
- Reach out to responsible design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback
What type of employees tend to do well in this role? Describe their background to me.
This person should be willing to take on any SOW to help the team, no matter how vague, monotonous, or challenging. It is best if they have a personal interest in the gaming/AR/VR space and are motivated each day to work on these groundbreaking prototypes. They should be a team player, willing to jump in and support others whenever needed.
What are some things you liked about the person previously in this role? What did you not like about that person?
The last person was excited to be a part of the AR/VR space and were energized by the prototypes we built. They were independent and willing to reach out to engineers to collaboratively solve problems.
What would the person in this role work on from a project perspective that would be more exciting than working for a competitor?
Our team is building the prototype devices that will create the access points. We are developing consumer electronic devices and technology that has never existed before and will change, for the better, the way people can work, socialize, and build meaningful connections.
Tell me more about what this person will do on a day-to-day basis.
Our team starts off our day by prioritizing the 3-5 major projects we have going on at any one time. Each technician has a role and responsibility on a project and may be asked to support multiple projects in a day. We work hard to drive reasonable schedules that do not overburden any one person, and are focused on the quality and functionality of the prototypes we build over simply meeting a deadline. We will work with engineers 1:1 and ensure our engagements with them are a partnership, and that they are willing and able to support our technicians with an issues and questions that come up.
