Job Title: Healthcare Technical Writer

Contractor Work Model: RemoteThe Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining clear, user-focused documentation for business and operational applications. This includes user guides, standard operating procedures, job aids, and training materials used by business users and AI-driven tools such as chatbots. The role works closely with subject matter experts and business analysts to translate complex systems and processes into easy-to-understand documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and maintain user guides, SOPs, job aids, and other operational documentation.
- Translate complex workflows and systems into clear, step-by-step instructions.
- Develop documentation for applications built on platforms such as Salesforce.
- Update training materials and presentations (no training delivery required).
- Collaborate with SMEs and Business Analysts to gather and validate requirements.
- Ensure documentation meets quality, style, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Publish and maintain documentation in learning management and governance tools.
Qualifications
Required - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical writer or in a communications-focused role
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Business, or a technical discipline
In Lieu of Degree - Candidates without a Bachelor's degree must have an additional 4 years of relevant work experience, in addition to the required 3 years of technical writing or communications experience
Preferred - Knowledge of call center operations, claims processing, enrollment, or billing workflows
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments, including ACA
- Experience supporting documentation for AI tools or knowledge bases
