Healthcare Technical Writer

The Technical Writer / Documentation Specialist is responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining clear, user-focused documentation for business and operational applications. This includes user guides, standard operating procedures, job aids, and training materials used by business users and AI-driven tools such as chatbots. The role works closely with subject matter experts and business analysts to translate complex systems and processes into easy-to-understand documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and maintain user guides, SOPs, job aids, and other operational documentation.

• Translate complex workflows and systems into clear, step-by-step instructions.

• Develop documentation for applications built on platforms such as Salesforce.

• Update training materials and presentations (no training delivery required).

• Collaborate with SMEs and Business Analysts to gather and validate requirements.

• Ensure documentation meets quality, style, legal, and regulatory standards.

• Publish and maintain documentation in learning management and governance tools.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technical writer or in a communications-focused role

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Business, or a technical discipline

In Lieu of Degree

• Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree must have an additional 4 years of relevant work experience, in addition to the required 3 years of technical writing or communications experience

Preferred

• Knowledge of call center operations, claims processing, enrollment, or billing workflows

• Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments, including ACA

• Experience supporting documentation for AI tools or knowledge bases
