We are seeking a Python developer with extensive professional experience in network automation. The ideal candidate will work with Architecture and Engineering teams to develop software systems that manage networking constructs such as firewalls, load balancers, SDN, routers, and switches. This role involves understanding complex interconnectivity and serving as a proficient technical resource in Network Automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production Services to define strategies for network automation.
- Develop and maintain a catalog of automation services for instrumentation and operational needs.
- Provide next-level escalation support for production triage efforts.
- Manage a continuous improvement/continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline for network development and testing.
- Make complex modifications to existing software applications and modules.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Establish and maintain a repository of reference architectures and best practices.
- Apply technical knowledge to create a modernization data roadmap.
- Collaborate with other Architects in developing complex end-to-end Enterprise data solutions.
- Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
Experience: More than 12 years of relevant experience as part of a software development team focusing on network automation.
Technical Skills:- Strong software development skills in Python, with an understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
- Programming experience with Python and frameworks such as Django, Flask, Jinja, or SQLAlchemy.
- Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, and Continuous Build systems with automated testing.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA & OOD).
- Familiarity with OS Platforms such as Cisco and RHEL.
- Automation experience with configuration via Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with workflow tools or frameworks like Pronghorn.
- Knowledge of Network Systems including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, F5 GTM/LTM, IPAM, DDI, Avi, and SDN.
- Experience using Agile Tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Agile processes and ceremonies as a product owner.
- Background in software architecture, including API design.
- Scripting abilities in Perl or Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with application management, including auto build/test/deployment, security integration (Active Directory, LDAP, OAuth), and logging (Splunk, ELK).
