Position Overview
A leading aerospace and defense organization is seeking a highly experienced
Information Technologist to support the modernization of software product development using
DevSecOps practices. This role focuses on the design, architecture, deployment, and operation of a modern
DevSecOps software factory supporting complex aerospace programs.
The selected candidate will work in an
Agile software development environment, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test to transition teams from end-of-life tools to scalable, modern solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct trade studies and analysis of alternatives for end-of-life peer review and development tools
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype replacement solutions and gain stakeholder buy-in
- Productionize selected tools and platforms for enterprise use
- Define migration strategies and support onboarding of development teams to new tools
- Design, architect, deploy, and operate a modern DevSecOps software factory
- Support continuous build, integration, test, security, deployment, and metrics pipelines
- Collaborate with engineering and test teams in an Agile development environment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 14+ years of related professional or military experience in Software Engineering
- OR
- Master's degree and 12+ years of related experience
- OR
- PhD and 9+ years of related experience
- Strong experience working within an Agile software development lifecycle
- Experience with peer review tools such as Atlassian Crucible
- Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift)
- Experience with change management and tracking tools such as Jira, ClearQuest, or Asana
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab
- Experience with configuration management systems such as Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Subversion
Preferred Qualifications
- Architect-level certification in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes)
- Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve peer review quality
- Experience architecting and deploying cloud-based solutions
- Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
- Current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
