We are a fast-moving, highly collaborative team supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations and the expansion of new manufacturing facilities. Our work directly enables factory uptime, engineering productivity, and safe, reliable operations. We are seeking an entry-level Network Engineer who is motivated to learn, enjoys hands-on technical work, and thrives in a dynamic onsite environment. This role is well-suited for an engineer early in their career who wants to build strong fundamentals in campus networking while gaining exposure to large-scale manufacturing environments
The ID1 IT Network Engineer provides onsite operational support for campus LAN and wireless network infrastructure across manufacturing and office environments. The role focuses on hands-on deployment, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network equipment while developing technical skills under established standards and guidance from senior engineers. This is a primarily onsite position and requires regular presence in campus facilities, communications rooms, and production environments.
Responsibilities:- Provide onsite support for campus LAN and wireless network infrastructure, operating as a developing individual contributor under the guidance of senior network engineers. Respond to network incidents, alarms, and service requests related to campus LAN and wireless services, performing initial triage and raising complex issues as appropriate. Participate in on-call or escalation rotations as required, with mentoring and guidance from senior team members.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of campus switching and Wi-Fi equipment and software, including access switches, wireless access points, and wireless LAN controllers. Perform hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of switching technologies, including VLANs, trunking, access ports, port security, PoE, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), following established standards and procedures.
- Assist with wireless (Wi-Fi) operations, including access point deployment, controller configuration updates, RF troubleshooting, and validation of wireless coverage and connectivity.
- Support Cisco-based and Arista-based network environments, including VLAN configuration and participation in operational activities involving EVPN/VXLAN and BGP, with design and architecture direction provided by senior engineers.
- Assist with the operation and solving of campus routing protocols, including EIGRP, with a focus on understanding routing behavior, adjacency issues, and operational impact.
- Implement approved network changes during maintenance windows, including switch installations, port activations, VLAN additions, and wireless updates, following change management and peer review processes.
- Work directly in production and office environments to support network connectivity for manufacturing, engineering, and corporate users. Perform onsite physical deployment activities, including racking, stacking, mounting, cabling, labeling, and decommissioning of network equipment in communications rooms, IDFs, and campus facilities. Follow network standards, security requirements, and operational procedures to ensure reliability, compliance, and consistency across the campus.
- Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams, port maps, and runbooks, reflecting onsite changes and deployments. Use network monitoring and management tools to validate network health, gather data, and support root cause analysis efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
- 1-2 years of industry experience in network engineering, infrastructure support, or a related IT role.
- Working knowledge of: TCP/IP fundamentals and Ethernet networking, VLANs and basic switching concepts, and campus routing fundamentals (e.g., EIGRP)
- Familiarity with enterprise switching and wireless platforms (configuration, monitoring, or support).
- Experience working in onsite or operational IT environments, such as manufacturing, industrial, or campus settings.
- Ability to follow documented procedures, communicate clearly, and work effectively within a team.
- Physical & Onsite Requirements:
- This position is primarily onsite and requires regular presence on campus.
- Ability to work in communications rooms, data closets, and industrial environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required for equipment installation and repairs.
Preferred Qualifications:- Exposure to enterprise routing and network architectures, such as BGP, EVPN, or VXLAN.
- Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing networks, including OT or SCADA environments.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA or equivalent (or actively pursuing certification).
- Strong desire to learn, grow technical skills, and take on increasing responsibility over time.
