Tier 1 Reliability Center Support Engineer
Location: San Antonio, Texas (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
The Tier 1 Reliability Center Support Engineer serves as the first line of defense for Operational Technology (OT) systems. This role involves providing real-time monitoring, incident response, and basic troubleshooting to ensure system availability and performance. The position requires escalating complex issues to Tier 2 or engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor OT systems, including SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and related infrastructure, using established tools.
- Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, and incidents within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Perform initial troubleshooting to resolve common technical issues and minimize downtime.
- Provide basic support for OT servers, networks, and applications, including patching and performance checks.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks to ensure system health.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and resolutions.
- Update operational documentation and procedures as needed.
- Generate routine reports on OT system performance and availability.
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Tier 2 or engineering teams following established protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and enhancements.
Required Qualifications
Education: An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field such as Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is required.
Experience: Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or a similar environment is required.
Technical Skills: A strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching, is necessary. Proficiency with monitoring and alerting tools is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OT systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with Windows Server administration is a plus.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or ISA/IEC 62443 are a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires a willingness to work rotational shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is up to $32.50 per hour. The specific rate will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
