We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer AI, Cloud Native Data Engineering to join a high-performing team focused on building a modern AI-enabled data platform. This role involves developing next-generation data solutions in a fast-paced environment, supporting large-scale data analysis, and contributing to a hybrid cloud data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities


  • Implement and operationalize modern AI-enabled data capabilities on Google Cloud to ingest, transform, and distribute data for big data applications
  • Leverage AI/agentic frameworks to automate data management, governance, and data consumption (data pipelines, data quality, metadata, compliance)
  • Collaborate within a matrix organization with principal engineers, product managers, and data engineers to roadmap, plan, and deliver data capabilities
  • Contribute to migration from on-premises systems to cloud environments
  • Lead design and hands-on implementation of modern data processing capabilities

Required Qualifications


  • Experience working in a large data environment
  • Demonstrated recent experience with AI tools and frameworks such as:

    • LangChain
    • LangGraph / ADK
    • Agentic frameworks
    • RAG / GraphRAG
    • MCP for agent-based data capabilities

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with hands-on cloud data solutions (Spark-based ingestion and processing)
  • 3+ years of experience with data lakehouse architecture and design
  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Python / PySpark
    • Kafka
    • Airflow
    • Google Cloud Storage
    • BigQuery
    • DataProc
    • Cloud Composer

  • Experience developing data flows using Kafka, Flink, and Spark Streaming

Desired Qualifications


  • Experience using AI to auto-generate data engineering code, including context engineering and prompt engineering
  • Strong background in cloud-based data lakes, warehouses, and automated data pipelines
  • Public cloud certifications (Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or AWS Specialty Data Analytics)
  • Experience with web-based UI development using React and Node.js
