Controls Engineer

Job Title: Controls Engineer GM GCCS

Location: Flint, MI (Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months Contract (Potential Extension)

Job Summary

We are seeking a mid-level Controls Engineer with strong expertise in GM GCCS (Global Common Controls Standard) and Allen-Bradley PLC Programming to support an onsite project in Flint, MI. The ideal candidate must be capable of developing and programming PLC logic from scratch using the GM GCCS standard, in addition to debugging, commissioning, and providing onsite support in an automotive manufacturing environment.

This is an urgent onsite requirement with an initial assignment of approximately 3 months, with the potential to extend up to 6 months based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and program Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch using GM GCCS standards.
• Design, write, modify, and maintain PLC programs in compliance with GM Global Common Controls Standard (GCCS).
• Perform PLC debugging, troubleshooting, and commissioning during equipment startup.
• Provide onsite controls engineering support for manufacturing systems.
• Diagnose and resolve automation and controls issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Support system testing, validation, and optimization.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in an industrial or automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with GM GCCS (Global Common Controls Standard).
• Must be able to create/program PLC logic from scratch following GM GCCS standards.
• Strong experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) PLC Programming.
• Hands-on experience with:
• PLC Programming

• Commissioning
• Startup & Onsite Support
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Flint, MI.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
