Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Melbourne, FL. This is a hybrid position; must work 2 days per week out of the Melbourne, FL office and can work remotely within the U.S. 3 days per week.

What YOU will do
  • Lead a cross-functional team daily and coordinate regularly with engineering and project management to ensure success of the product and program, including managing aspects of quality, cost, schedule and scope while navigating the various team dynamics present.
  • Provide work-processes, optimization methods and risk management tools for large or complex projects.
  • Participate in feature development tasks, including design implementation plans, software requirements and software level integration testing.
  • Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and software level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and make recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plan for the requirements.
  • Design, develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry. In the alternative, at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience in embedded software development and verification.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience developing software in an AGIILE environment using programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of DO-178/C development experience.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of project management experience or experience leading teams.
  • Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company's immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The company will not offer immigration sponsorship for this position. The company will not seek an export authorization for this role.

The salary range is $146,973.00 to $164,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
