Job Description:
Senior Snowflake & Qlik Analytics Engineer

Location: Bellaire, Texas (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Snowflake & Qlik Analytics Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization and Snowflake migration initiative. This individual will be responsible for designing and building Snowflake data marts, creating curated reporting datasets, and developing and supporting Qlik applications and dashboards that consume enterprise data assets. The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering skills with deep Qlik development expertise and has experience translating business reporting requirements into scalable, governed analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data marts supporting enterprise reporting and analytics.
  • Develop robust ELT pipelines and data transformation processes.
  • Create and maintain Snowflake tables, views, streams, and tasks.
  • Implement dimensional data models including fact and dimension tables.
  • Optimize query performance and warehouse utilization.
  • Support Snowflake security architecture, role-based access controls, and data governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data requirements and reporting structures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Qlik Sense applications and dashboards.
  • Develop and optimize Qlik load scripts and data ingestion processes.
  • Build efficient Qlik data models aligned with Snowflake reporting structures.
  • Build curated reporting views and business-friendly datasets within Snowflake.
  • Develop reusable metrics, KPIs, and certified reporting assets.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • Eight (8) years of experience in major system design and implementation. A Bachelor's degree can substitute for four (4) years of this experience.
  • 5+ years of advanced SQL development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
  • 3+ years of Qlik Sense development experience.
  • Strong dimensional modeling experience (facts and dimensions).
  • Experience with ELT/ETL development and data integration.
  • Experience designing semantic layers and reporting-ready data structures.
  • Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise with Snowflake tables, views, streams, tasks, and stored procedures.
  • Proficiency with performance tuning and query optimization in Snowflake.
  • Experience implementing Snowflake security and access controls.
  • Strong Qlik scripting experience.
  • Deep understanding of Set Analysis, data modeling, performance optimization, and publishing and security rules in Qlik.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud migration or enterprise data transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
  • Experience in healthcare, finance, or insurance environments.
  • Knowledge of data governance and master data management principles.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
