Position Overview We are seeking an Advanced Web Designer/Developer to join a collaborative IT team during a high-profile digital modernization phase. This role is instrumental in supporting a major application for NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center status-the highest recognition awarded by the National Cancer Institute. You will lead the transition of critical digital infrastructure from legacy frameworks to modern, future-ready architectures.
Scope of Work As the primary lead for redesign and migration efforts, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle-including design, development, testing, and deployment. The focus is on migrating current sites from legacy frameworks to Microsoft .NET 8.0/10.0 using Razor Pages or Blazor Pages. Beyond development, you will provide comprehensive training to internal staff to ensure the long-term maintainability of the redesigned environments.
Key Responsibilities * System Modernization: Review and rewrite existing .ASPX (.NET 4.7) websites into modern .NET 8.0/10.0 environments.
- Web Architecture: Design and build advanced web systems utilizing Razor or Blazor frameworks to support clinical trials and cancer research data.
- Technical Lead: Execute all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring production deployments meet the organization's long-term performance and security needs.
- Staff Training: Provide hands-on training and mentorship to the internal team on modern web development practices and Microsoft .NET 8.0/10.0 standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a tight-knit group of clinicians, researchers, and technical support staff to translate research needs into functional web tools.
Required Skills & Experience * .NET Development: 5+ years of professional experience.
- Programming: 5+ years of experience with C#.
- Frontend Core: 3 5 years of experience with HTML and CSS.
- Scripting: 1 3 years of experience with JavaScript.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications * Database: Proficiency in SQL for data-driven web applications.
- Framework Mastery: Deep understanding of .NET 8.0, Razor, and Blazor is highly desirable given the project scope.
