Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer - Software with strong expertise in migrating embedded systems from Windows CE (WinCE/WEC7) to Embedded Linux. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Linux BSP development, bootloader customization, kernel porting, device driver development, hardware bring-up, and embedded software integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing WinCE/WEC7 architecture, firmware, BSP, drivers, middleware, and applications.
• Define and execute the migration strategy from Windows CE to Embedded Linux.
• Port and customize Linux BSP, U-Boot bootloader, and Linux kernel components.
• Migrate WinCE APIs, threads, timers, synchronization mechanisms, and IPC services to Linux equivalents.
• Develop and port device drivers for SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, Ethernet, FPGA interfaces, and custom peripherals.
• Perform hardware bring-up and board-level debugging.
• Replace WinCE communication frameworks and services with Linux-compatible solutions.
• Integrate middleware, application software, and low-level firmware components.
• Optimize system performance, boot time, and memory usage.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and system validation plans.
• Support product verification, release, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and customer teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Windows CE (WinCE/WEC7) and Embedded Linux.
• Hands-on experience with Linux BSP development.
• Experience customizing U-Boot and Linux kernel components.
• Strong understanding of device driver development for embedded systems.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, Ethernet, FPGA interfaces, and custom peripherals.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and board-level debugging.
• Knowledge of IPC, threading, synchronization mechanisms, and timers in embedded operating systems.
• Strong embedded software integration and firmware development skills.
• Experience with system optimization, boot-time tuning, and memory optimization.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering and Linux-based product development.
