Job Purpose

The Engineering Change Coordinator/Component Engineer is responsible for coordinating technical documentation releases into SAP, MS SharePoint, and other business systems, in addition to maintaining revision control of all related information. Will coordinate with cross functional departments including engineering, marketing, quality, finance and operations in order to drive the engineering change process to completion in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10%.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize the SAP, MS SharePoint, and other business systems to input and maintain all documentation.
  • Maintain documentation creation, release and maintenance of products; creating part numbers, releasing approved ECOs / documents to operations, maintaining of PD controlled documents.
  • Support product development design resources in selecting, specifying, and qualifying purchased components.
  • Maintain the availability and suitability of active purchased components by proactively mitigating obsolescence/lead time issues.
  • Work with various departments on implementation of ECO's after they are completed.
  • Create and maintain engineering BOMs in SAP with data provided by design engineers.
  • Track and maintain open ECOs via weekly meetings and reports.
  • Create and maintain Source Control Drawings (SCD's) via input of data and graphics into the 'SCD database' to enable Engineering and Purchasing to procure parts.
  • Assist design engineers in the determination/selection of components, and ensure vendor availability to meet time, price and quantity requirements for availability in products and/or systems.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years document control experience and component sourcing
  • Minimum 2 years' experience writing/processing ECOs
  • Experience with engineering records or change
  • management
  • Proficiency in SAP, and MS SharePoint
  • Understanding of electronic and electromechanical hardware terminology

Desired Skills

4 year Degree in electronics or related field is preferred.
