The Undersea Systems Division (USD) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Software Development Intern to work in our San Diego, CA office. The USD operates at the leading edge of technology by designing, demonstrating, and deploying solutions to solve complex remote sensing problems for our Department of Defense customers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to system development and to gain experience for an individual with interest in maritime remote sensing, physics, sensors, system prototyping, algorithm and software development, statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Our focus is to develop capabilities and deployable prototypes and transition those to our Defense business segment
Primary Responsibilities: The candidate will be supporting a DoW program called Pulling Guard as a Software development intern. Under the mentorship of Leidos technical staff, responsible for code development on various algorithms in sensing and sensemaking.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in computer science or related field of study
- Python, Rust, Java, C++ (a 'master' of one or more, exposure to all)
- Gitlab or other software repository and issue system
- Develop software working with the team, in an innovative program
- Support software test

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
