Senior I&C Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior I&C Technician in Jacksonville, FL.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
* Assist with the daily flow of operations to keep activities running efficiently
* Help coordinate priorities, schedules, and follow-ups between different groups

Controls & Instrumentation Assistance:
* Take part in assembling, wiring, marking, and verifying control panels, I/O hardware, and simulator systems
* Diagnose and resolve issues involving sensors, control components, and related technical equipment
* Contribute to configuring, validating, and integrating devices and signal paths during system builds or upgrades

Inventory & Materials Management:
* Monitor supplies, tools, and shared equipment to ensure everything is accounted for and accessible
* Keep up-to-date records related to inventory intake, storage, and usage

Process Optimization:
* Look for inefficiencies or gaps and recommend better ways of working
* Help create or refine simple tools, checklists, or procedures that improve team efficiency

Equipment & Workspace Support:
* Maintain clean, orderly work areas and ensure tools and equipment remain in good working condition
* Assist with preparing, disassembling, transporting, and organizing simulator hardware and related components

Multi-Team & Technical Support:
* Provide flexible support wherever it's needed across technical and operational teams
* Step into shifting priorities and act as a general resource when unexpected needs arise
* Help with hands-on tasks such as basic assembly, wiring, setup, or troubleshooting
* Use drawings, instructions, and documentation to carry out tasks accurately and resolve straightforward issues
* Promote consistent, organized practices in material handling and workflow execution
* Contribute to general technical or operational tasks as demands change

REQUIREMENTS:
* Background in a technical or STEM-related discipline is ideal, whether through vocational training or a college-level program
* A decade or more of hands-on experience working in controls, instrumentation, or a comparable technical field
* Strong ability to stay organized, juggle shifting priorities, and handle a broad mix of responsibilities
* Comfortable working with digital tools, including spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) and various content or document management platforms
* Quick to pick up unfamiliar software, equipment, or processes without heavy guidance
* Familiarity with electrical wiring, I/O hardware, control panels, or other industrial control elements
* Solid diagnostic abilities when working with electrical or control-system issues
* Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and a solutions-first approach to challenges
* Capable of interpreting and working from schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical electrical documents

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
