Role: NetSuite Financial Functional

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

What you will do

•      Design, build, debug, and maintain SuiteFlow workflows — state-based and approval flows, conditional transitions, scheduled triggers, and custom actions

•      Troubleshoot complex customizations across workflows, custom records, scripted fields, and saved searches — coordinate fixes with SuiteScript developers

•      Build and maintain Advanced PDF/HTML templates for invoices, statements, POs, and other transaction forms

•      Configure and optimize Finance modules: GL, AP, AR, Bank, and standard close processes

•      Set up and maintain multi-subsidiary OneWorld environments including intercompany transactions and elimination subsidiaries

•      Build saved searches, reports, KPIs, and dashboards — and troubleshoot financial reporting issues

•      Support month-end close: reconciliations, GL impact issues, intercompany eliminations, consolidated reporting

•      Gather requirements from client stakeholders and translate into functional specs and acceptance criteria for developers

•      Partner with SuiteScript developers through the build cycle — write FDDs, coordinate UAT, sign off on delivery

•      Scope and deliver enhancement projects: new subsidiaries, process redesigns, role and permission overhauls

•      Coordinate with users on testing cycles for customization updates

•      Triage and resolve client tickets across configuration, workflow, and reporting issues with clean written follow-ups

•      Run client-facing meetings independently — discovery, recommendations, scope management

•      Maintain project documentation: status updates, decision logs, configuration workbooks, handoff packets

Required

•      3–5 years of hands-on NetSuite consulting or admin experience, with at least 2 full-cycle implementations or major optimization projects in a lead functional role

•      Deep working knowledge of NetSuite Finance modules: GL, AP, AR, Bank, and standard close processes

•      Proficient in SuiteFlow — designing, building, and debugging state-based and approval workflows; comfortable maintaining workflows built by others

•      Experience designing and editing Advanced PDF/HTML templates including FreeMarker syntax and conditional logic

•      Proven ability to troubleshoot complex customizations and coordinate resolution with developers

•      Hands-on experience with multi-subsidiary OneWorld: subsidiary setup, consolidation hierarchies, multi-currency, intercompany, eliminations

•      Strong platform fluency: saved searches, custom forms and fields, custom records, roles and permissions, CSV imports

•      Able to gather requirements from business stakeholders and write functional specs for development resources

•      Comfortable running client-facing meetings independently

•      Excellent written communication

Nice to Have

•      Advanced Financials: ARM / ASC 606, deferred revenue amortization schedules, statistical accounts

•      Zone & Co. applications: ZoneBilling (subscription/usage billing) and/or ZoneReconcile (bank rec automation)

•      NetSuite certifications: SuiteFoundation, ERP Consultant, Administrator, or Financial User

•      Background in public accounting or in-house controllership before consulting

•      Experience with Expensify — implementation, NetSuite integration, AP expense workflows

•      Prior independent contractor experience
