Job Description
We are seeking a Network / System Engineer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems engineering, OS support, APM tooling, and performance analysis and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, remediate outages, and optimize platform performance.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, including OS technical support and systems programming.
- Support data center capabilities, subsystem integration, and hardware compatibility parameters.
- Perform platform health checks, apply patches, and assist with platform and agent upgrades.
- Triage and troubleshoot Java/.NET/Oracle applications on backend platforms.
- Navigate product outages, identify performance bottlenecks, detect anomalous behavior, and drive root-cause analysis.
- Exercise independent judgment to make sound decisions and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate across a matrixed organization to influence and direct remediation and optimization activities.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Hands-on with APM tools such as Aternity, Gomez, APM/BPM, Sitescope, VUGen, Introscope, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, GlassBox, or Splunk.
- Experience in Windows and Linux engineering, with SQL or Linux shell scripting proficiency.
- Basic knowledge of middleware technologies such as WebLogic, WebSphere, and Tomcat.
- Strong analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of resource utilization and capacity planning, with ability to identify system performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings on complex production issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin or Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect.
- Experience with Dynatrace performance engineering analysis.
