Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP Warehouse Management (WM/EWM) Functional Consultant with strong hands-on experience implementing Embedded Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) in SAP S/4HANA.

The consultant will play a key role in establishing a foundational SAP EWM template that can be replicated across additional warehouses and plants. The initial assignment will focus on a pilot warehouse implementation using core/basic EWM functionality, with an emphasis on requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, go-live support, process documentation, and knowledge transfer.

The ideal candidate will have full lifecycle SAP WM/EWM implementation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with both business and IT stakeholders.

Key Objectives

• Establish a standardized SAP Embedded EWM template that can be leveraged across future warehouses and plants.
• Support the implementation of basic/core EWM functionality for an initial pilot warehouse.
• Configure SAP EWM in accordance with approved business and solution designs.
• Support the project through the complete lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through UAT and go-live.
• Document current-state and future-state warehouse processes.
• Provide training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to internal resources.
• Serve as a trusted functional advisor and bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical/IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Solution Design

• Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to understand warehouse processes, requirements, and pain points.
• Analyze current-state processes and define future-state warehouse processes.
• Translate business requirements into SAP EWM functional solutions.
• Support solution design and ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives and SAP best practices.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions.

SAP EWM Configuration

• Perform hands-on configuration of Embedded EWM within SAP S/4HANA.
• Configure core/basic EWM functionality based on approved functional and solution designs.
• Ensure SAP configuration supports business requirements and defined warehouse processes.
• Analyze configuration issues, defects, and enhancement requirements and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
• Work with technical teams where integrations, enhancements, or technical changes are required.

Testing & UAT

• Develop and support functional testing activities.
• Prepare or contribute to test scenarios, test scripts, and test cases.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
• Analyze defects, determine root causes, and coordinate resolution.
• Validate that configured solutions meet approved business requirements before deployment.

Go-Live & Implementation Support

• Support cutover and go-live preparation activities.
• Provide hands-on functional support during implementation and go-live.
• Troubleshoot SAP EWM issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams.
• Support post-go-live stabilization and transition activities.
• Ensure the pilot implementation provides a scalable foundation for future warehouse deployments.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Create functional documentation, configuration documentation, and process flows as required.
• Develop training materials and conduct end-user training.
• Transfer knowledge to internal SAP and business resources.
• Mentor internal team members to improve their ability to support SAP EWM independently.

Required Functional Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Warehouse Management (WM) / Extended Warehouse Management (EWM).
• Proven experience with Embedded EWM in SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong understanding of core/basic EWM functionality.
• Experience configuring SAP EWM and translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Experience with warehouse process design and optimization.
• Strong understanding of SAP implementation methodology and full project lifecycle.
• Experience with requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, testing, UAT, and go-live.
• Ability to document current-state and future-state processes.
• Experience working with integrated SAP environments.

Advanced warehouse automation or highly complex advanced EWM functionality is not the primary focus of this role. The priority is strong functional knowledge of core Embedded EWM and the ability to deliver a successful implementation.

Required Project Experience

• Proven full lifecycle SAP WM/EWM implementation experience.
• Experience taking an SAP warehouse implementation from requirements through configuration, testing, UAT, go-live, and stabilization.
• Experience supporting pilot implementations or template-based implementations is highly desirable.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant SAP WM/EWM experience is preferred; however, depth and quality of end-to-end implementation experience are more important than total years.
• Must be sufficiently hands-on to contribute immediately within a defined implementation scope.

Communication & Soft Skills

Technical & Professional Responsibilities

In addition to functional EWM responsibilities, the consultant will:

• Support application configuration, testing, quality assurance, implementation, and production support.
• Analyze business and system requirements and translate them into detailed functional specifications.
• Investigate application defects and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support application enhancements and continuous process improvements.
• Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, enhancements, interfaces, and system issues where applicable.
• Maintain accurate functional and process documentation.
• Ensure solutions align with organizational standards and approved SAP designs.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM implementation experience.
• Multiple end-to-end SAP WM/EWM implementations.
• Experience developing reusable SAP warehouse templates.
• Experience implementing warehouse solutions across multiple plants or locations.
• Strong business-process understanding of inbound, outbound, inventory, and warehouse operations.
• Experience conducting business workshops and stakeholder presentations.
• SAP certification in EWM/WM is a plus.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior SAP EWM Functional Consultant who has successfully completed one or more full-cycle Embedded EWM/S/4HANA implementations. The candidate should be strong in requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, UAT, go-live, documentation, and training, with excellent communication skills.
