As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end data center operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across enterprise server, network, and storage systems. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in leading hands-on deployments, overseeing rack installations, managing copper and fiber interconnects, and optimizing power and cooling capacity. A current security clearance with agency-specific polygraph is strictly required for consideration.

Key Responsibilities
(Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:)

  • Hardware and Network Operations
    • Configure, provision, and maintain enterprise Cisco switching and firewall equipment to ensure reliable network performance and security posture
    • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot HPE and Dell server hardware across diverse operational workloads
    • Oversee physical rack installations, hardware lifecycle refreshes, component replacements, and preventative maintenance schedules
  • Documentation and Systems Mapping
    • Author and maintain comprehensive, auditable architectural documentation, rack elevations, and physical/logical network topologies using Microsoft Visio or DrawIO
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance runbooks, and inventory asset tracking records for all data center assets
  • Power and Cooling Capacity Planning
    • Model, monitor, and optimize power allocation (kW/rack density, PDU phase balancing, UPS loading) and cooling airflow (hot/cold aisle containment, CFM distribution)
    • Perform proactive capacity planning to forecast rack space, power distribution, and thermal margins for incoming hardware expansions
  • Physical Infrastructure and Cabling
    • Design and implement structured cabling architectures (single-mode/multi-mode fiber and Cat6/6A copper) following industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI)
    • Ensure proper cable routing, labeling, patch panel termination, and port mapping across server racks, patch fields, and core distribution frames
  • Enterprise Storage Management
    • Administer high-performance storage platforms, including Dell, HPE, and PureStorage Network Attached Storage (NAS) and associated SAN fabrics
    • Monitor storage utilization, performance tiers, and latency metrics to ensure high availability, data integrity, and disaster recovery readiness

Education and Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current TS/SCI with agency-specific polygraph required for consideration
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (equivalent years of direct experience considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with advanced architectural design of scalable, distributed systems
  • 5+ years of experience with hands-on technical responsibility operating within mission-critical enterprise or colocation data center environments
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team

Technical Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-grade HPE and Dell server hardware
  • Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Direct administrative experience with enterprise storage solutions, specifically Dell, HPE, and PureStorage NAS/SAN arrays
  • Strong understanding of data center environmental dynamics, including power distribution units (PDUs), circuit requirements, and HVAC/cooling capacity calculations
  • Practical proficiency with structured fiber optic (LC, MPO) and copper patching, testing, and cable plant management
  • Proficiency in generating detailed rack layouts, port-to-port mappings, and network diagrams utilizing Visio, DrawIO, or equivalent tools

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA/CCNP), CompTIA Server+, BICSI Installer/Technician, or Certified Data Center Management Professional (CDCMP)
  • Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools and environmental monitoring systems (SNMP/BMS)
  • Prior background supporting cleared environments or federal government mission systems
