Job Description:

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and delivering IT projects from initiation through completion.
This role oversees project planning, execution, governance, stakeholder communication, and delivery of complex IT initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, enterprise architecture, and project management office standards.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and deliver IT projects from initiation through completion.
Oversee all project activities including timelines, task assignments, and progress tracking to ensure objectives are met.
Maintain effective working relationships with project teams, vendors, and cross-departmental partners.
Provide clear and timely progress updates and prepare status reports for senior management.
Compile project charters and business or project plans, ensuring appropriate development methodologies are applied.
Manage projects documenting business requirements and delivering IT solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
Assist in developing recommendations including resource requirements, dependencies, interdependencies, and policy implications.
Prepare and package deliverables for internal teams, steering committees, and project stakeholders.
Manage multiple projects, project resources, and governance activities.
Ensure effective project communication throughout the project lifecycle, including escalation of risks and issues.
Maintain ongoing client satisfaction and manage peer-level stakeholder relationships.
Collaborate with business and IT leadership to develop detailed project plans including scope, assumptions, timelines, risks, benefits, and budgets.
Define project organization structures with clear roles and responsibilities.
Document and report project status against objectives, milestones, budgets, and resources.
Develop project schedules, estimate resource requirements, and monitor work plans with corrective actions as needed.
Provide guidance to project resources to establish priorities and ensure timely task delivery.
Develop and maintain requirements documentation as required.
Assess project outcomes and identify improvement opportunities for future initiatives.
Provide leadership and support for change management and communication activities.
Work within project management office standards and assist in defining new standards where required.

Requirement/Must Have:

Meet one of the following education and experience combinations.
University degree in business, management, or related discipline with a minimum of four years of project management experience.
Two-year diploma in business, management, or related discipline with a minimum of six years of project management experience.
One-year certificate in business, management, or related discipline with a minimum of seven years of project management experience.
Minimum of eight years of project management experience.
Minimum of six years of experience defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders.
Minimum of eight years of experience developing project deliverables including charters, business cases, status reports, risk logs, dashboards, and project closures.
Minimum of eight years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
Minimum of six years of experience managing large, complex custom software application development projects.

Experience:

Minimum of six to eight years of progressive project management experience in complex IT environments.

Should Have:

Experience conducting impact and risk assessments across multiple scenarios.
Experience creating and managing project forecasts using Microsoft Project.
Experience developing and maintaining executive-level stakeholder relationships.
Experience delivering technology debt mitigation initiatives.
Experience coordinating government and vendor-wide IT initiatives.
Experience leading change management and communication planning.
Experience working in or for the public sector.

Qualification And Education:

Degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in business, management, or a related discipline.
