Job Description:

Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Position Overview
  • Seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Java Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software solutions. This individual will support digital transformation initiatives, third-party integrations, native application development, and enhancements to existing systems.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on development experience across Java, web applications, APIs, relational databases, DevOps, and cloud-based environments, while collaborating closely with product owners, architects, infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise software applications.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain full-stack web applications.
  • Design and implement APIs, web services, and third-party integrations using SOAP/REST.
  • Participate in application analysis and architectural design.
  • Maintain and enhance existing systems using strong architecture and test-driven development practices.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to improve application design, security, and performance.
  • Optimize relational database operations, including queries, caching, and read/write clustering.
  • Develop and enhance cloud-based solutions in partnership with infrastructure and architecture teams.
  • Apply DevOps best practices, including repository branching/merging, integrations, releases, and CI/CD.
  • Configure and support application-server environments such as Apache Tomcat and WebSphere.
  • Provide development estimates, establish timelines, prioritize work, and coordinate with project management and Scrum resources.
  • Document technical solutions, integrations, and application changes.
  • Help establish repeatable development guidelines and scalable technical standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, or relevant technical programming experience.
  • Advanced experience developing web-based IT solutions.
  • Strong experience in at least one of the following technical areas:
    • Java
    • JSP, Servlets, and JDBC
    • Web services
    • Angular
    • React / React Native
    • Vue.js
    • JSON and HTML
    • Mobile development
  • Strong experience with relational database design and SQL development, including technologies such as:
    • Oracle
    • DB2
    • SQL / PL/SQL
    • Oracle APEX
  • Hands-on experience with application servers such as Apache Tomcat or WebSphere preferred.
  • Strong understanding of REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching and merging.
  • Experience managing source-code conflicts and software releases for a development squad.
  • Experience with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or RUP.
  • Understanding of secure cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of SSL, encryption methodologies, and secure application development.
  • Ability to manage schedules and tasks while coordinating closely with Scrum Masters and project teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Java Developer certification
  • Oracle or DB2 certification
  • Oracle AEM integration experience
  • Oracle Visual Builder experience
  • UI development experience
  • Advanced experience with mobile-responsive web design
  • Knowledge of OWASP and web application vulnerabilities
  • Experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with:
    • Git or SVN
    • Maven
    • Jenkins
    • Gradle
  • Strong troubleshooting and production deployment experience
