What You''''ll Do:

  • Define and uphold Appian architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices to ensure scalable and secure solutions.
  • Lead the creation of enterprise-grade Appian applications, workflows, and integrations with systems like OnBase, APIs, and databases.
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams on implementation, performance tuning, and optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into innovative solutions.
  • Establish governance, CI/CD practices, and best deployment standards to maintain high quality and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform performance tuning, and ensure applications meet security and data integrity standards.
  • Drive reuse of components and adoption of platform best practices across teams.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years in application development and solution architecture, with strong expertise in Appian design and development.
  • Proven experience in workflow automation, case management, and process design.
  • Profound knowledge of Appian integrations via REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and databases.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, data modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance optimization best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery.
  • Excellent technical leadership capabilities with clear stakeholder communication.

Nice to Have:

  • Appian certifications at the Senior/Lead Developer or Architect level.
  • Experience integrating Appian with OnBase or other ECM platforms.
  • Background in financial services or insurance industries.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience, including leadership roles.

Other Requirements:

  • Hybrid work model with at least 3 days in the Toronto office per week.
  • Ability to lead in a collaborative, cross-functional Agile team environment.
