Position Title: Senior Aria/VCF Foundations Engineer
Location:   PA - Pittsburgh, OH - Cleveland, AL - Birmingham, TX - Dallas, AZ - Phoenix, CO - Aurora
Work Status :  5 Days Onsite
Duration : Contract to Hire
Years Of Experience Required : 12+

Function of the Group : SRTE Event Management Crew / Site Reliability Technology Engineering We are responsible for managing the monitoring and event management platforms at Bank

Project : Provide operational support for enterprise VMware Aria and VCF Foundation platforms. 

***This would position the role as a Senior Aria/VCF Foundations Engineer rather than simply an Aria administrator, which is likely what you''ll need for a large deployment.***


Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and administering large-scale VMware Aria Operations environments, including extra-large nodes in active - warm cluster configurations deployed in multiple datacenters.
  • 3+ years of experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Foundations components and operations.
  • Strong experience managing and troubleshooting vCenter Server, ESXi, clusters, resource pools, and distributed networking.
  • Experience with VMware Aria Operations, Aria Suite Lifecycle, Aria Operations for Networks, and Aria Automation (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible for infrastructure automation, configuration management, and operational tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL preferred), including basic commands-line operations, light troubleshooting, log analysis, light performance analysis, service management, package installations, and scripting.

Preferred Technical Skills
  • Experience with VCF SDDC Manager operations, lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching.
  • Knowledge of VMware NSX and vSAN administration.
  • Experience with VMware Aria Suite components:
    • Aria Operations
    • Aria Operations for Logs
    • Aria Operations for Networks
    • Aria Automation
    • Aria Lifecycle
  • Experience performing platform upgrades, capacity planning, health monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and automation integrations.
  • Experience supporting environments with strict security and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of monitoring, observability, and alert management best practices.
  • Experience working in enterprise ITSM environments using ServiceNow (SNOW) and Agile work tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with Archer or similar governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platforms.
     
Operational Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support for enterprise VMware Aria and VCF Foundation platforms.
  • Perform incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for platform outages, performance issues, and integration failures.
  • Execute platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Participate in capacity planning, health assessments, and architecture reviews.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and engineering teams to support platform initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within regulated financial services or banking environments is highly desirable.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:
  • 5+ years of VMware Aria Operations administration in large-scale, multi-datacenter environments.
  • 3+ years of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) experience.
  • Strong VMware infrastructure expertise (vCenter, ESXi, clusters, networking).
  • Experience with VMware Aria Suite products and automation tools.
  • Hands-on Ansible automation experience.
  • Linux (RHEL preferred) administration and troubleshooting skills.

FLEX SKILLS:
  • VCF SDDC Manager, NSX, and vSAN experience.
  • VMware Aria Suite product expertise.
  • Platform lifecycle management, monitoring, and performance tuning.

  • Experience in secure, compliance-driven enterprise environments.
  • ServiceNow, Jira, and Archer (or similar GRC tools).

SOFT SKILLS:
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

EDUCATION:
  • High School Degree or bachelor’s degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.

  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
