AccelQ Expert / Coach – Test Automation

Overview
We are seeking an experienced AccelQ Expert / Coach to support and enable an organization of approximately 40 AccelQ users. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with AccelQ, test automation frameworks, and enterprise testing practices, combined with the ability to coach test specialists and development squads.
This role will begin with onboarding and enablement this quarter, with an expectation of continued engagement and support throughout next year.
The consultant will serve as a trusted AccelQ subject matter expert, helping establish standards, accelerate adoption, guide automation engineering efforts, and resolve technical challenges and blockers.
Key Responsibilities
AccelQ Strategy, Guidelines & Best Practices
Develop and establish AccelQ testing engineering guidelines, standards, and best practices.
Build and maintain an AccelQ community site/knowledge hub containing standards, reusable assets, guidance, FAQs, and best practices.
Help establish consistent approaches for test automation development, maintenance, execution, and governance.
Promote adoption of scalable and maintainable AccelQ automation practices across approximately 40 users.
Coaching & Hands-On Technical Guidance
Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to test specialists and delivery squads using AccelQ.
Guide teams in developing and implementing an AccelQ-based test automation framework.
Review automation approaches and provide recommendations for improving scalability, maintainability, reliability, and execution.
Help users troubleshoot and overcome technical challenges encountered during AccelQ test development and execution.
Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions, workshops, office hours, and targeted coaching as needed.
Technical Issue Resolution
Act as the AccelQ subject matter expert and primary technical advisor for the organization.
Investigate and help resolve technical issues impacting the AccelQ environment, automation framework, or product capabilities.
Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions, improvements, or preventive practices.
Serve as a technical mediator between internal testing teams and AccelQ product/technical support resources.
Escalation & Vendor Coordination
Identify and manage critical showstoppers and blockers affecting test development or execution.
Coordinate with and, when necessary, bring in AccelQ technical experts to resolve complex or critical issues.
Help drive escalated issues through resolution while minimizing impact to testing schedules and delivery commitments.
Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and recommended actions to appropriate stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Expert-level hands-on experience with AccelQ and enterprise test automation.
Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or supporting AccelQ-based test automation frameworks.
Strong understanding of software testing, test automation engineering, and QA best practices.
Experience coaching or mentoring test engineers, QA specialists, or delivery squads.
Ability to troubleshoot complex AccelQ technical issues and guide teams toward practical solutions.
Experience working directly with AccelQ support/product/technical teams on escalated issues.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work effectively across multiple squads and with users possessing varying levels of AccelQ experience.
Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise-scale AccelQ implementations with multiple teams or dozens of users.
Experience establishing QA/test automation standards and communities of practice.
Experience developing reusable automation frameworks, patterns, and accelerators.
Experience with CI/CD integration and enterprise test execution environments.
Experience facilitating technical workshops, office hours, training, or coaching programs.
AccelQ certification or formal AccelQ training is a plus.
Engagement Expectations
Onboarding to begin during the current quarter.
Availability to provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and technical support throughout the following calendar year.
Willingness to engage hands-on with individual squads as well as provide broader organizational guidance.
Ability to respond to and help coordinate resolution of critical blockers and showstopper issues when required.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is more than an AccelQ trainer. We are looking for an experienced AccelQ practitioner and technical coach who can roll up their sleeves with testing teams, help establish an enterprise-quality automation approach, and serve as the escalation point for difficult technical challenges.
You should be comfortable moving between strategy, coaching, hands-on framework development, troubleshooting, and vendor escalation while helping an organization of approximately 40 users become more effective and self-sufficient with AccelQ.
