Summary

Requirements

10 or more years of experience in enterprise API development and lifecycle governance.
Proficiency in Apigee X on Google Cloud Platform for API management and publishing.
Experience with OpenAPI, Swagger, REST fundamentals, and GraphQL design considerations.
Experience in security protocols including OAuth2, JWT, JWKS, mTLS, and Ping Identity.
Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks such as Open Banking, PSD2, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Experience in integrating policy-as-code and contract validation into CI/CD automation pipelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Define and enforce enterprise-wide API design policies and governance frameworks.
Lead the API Governance Board to review and approve lifecycle standards and waivers.
Implement security patterns and runtime policies within the Apigee X and Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
Design API onboarding workflows and developer portal standards for catalog discoverability.
Partner with security engineering to define control objectives for NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
Establish governance KPIs and metrics to track policy compliance and security defect trends.
Author reference architectures, standard playbooks, and reusable API policy templates.
