Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a UX Designer IV for a contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Austin, TX. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. This role is for a Senior Product Designer to join a small, fast-moving team of AI builders shipping production-grade internal tools for a content organization. As the sole designer, you will own the end-to-end design across multiple product surfaces including dashboards, workflow automation tools, CRM systems, and AI-powered reporting, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience.
Responsibilities: - Own end-to-end design (research, interaction, visual, shipped UI) across 4-6 internal product surfaces
- Establish and maintain a lightweight design system ensuring consistency across all team surfaces
- Design interaction patterns for AI-native workflows: agent supervision, automated triage, intelligent recommendations, and real-time reporting
- Collaborate directly with senior engineers in a pod-based model for fast iteration with no heavy process
- Simplify complex, multi-source data views into single-screen experiences that eliminate context-switching
- Design end-to-end UX for an internal AI-powered dashboard (primary surface for 100+ users)
- Create and maintain a shared component/design system
- Conduct rapid prototyping and iteration on new tool concepts
- Perform user research and usability testing with internal stakeholders
Requirements: - 5-10 years of experience designing complex internal tools, enterprise SaaS, or developer platforms
- Strong interaction design and information architecture skills
- Self-directed work style with a proven ability to operate as the sole designer on an engineering-heavy team
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant work is required
Desired skills: - Front-end development skills (React, TypeScript) with the ability to implement designs directly
- Experience designing for AI/ML-powered features or agentic systems
- Design systems experience, including building and maintaining shared component libraries
Pay range: up to $88.86 per hour
