We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of a Payroll and HR Manager in our rapidly growing engineering and construction company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects related to payroll and human resources, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and in compliance with all legal requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the entire payroll function of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, timesheet tracking, and managing HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the HR department's budget.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role in payroll and HR, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with timesheet management and implementation of payroll systems.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll-related matters.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with payroll software.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
