Our client, a multi-strat and discreet hedge fund, is hiring! They are seeking a full-time Jr. Quant Analyst / Data Scientist to work 5x/week (will eventually switch to 4 with Friday flexibility) onsite in Midtwon Manhattan.
The firm is~$1B AUM and will be growing further. They are a long/short hedge fund, focused on energy such as natural gas/petroleum, etc.
Size is ~25 employees, including 3 Founders. You will liaise with the Controller, Compliance, and various talented technologists. There will also be heavy interaction with PMs, Quant etc. This opportunity will give you tons of front-office exposure.

Overview
We are seeking a Junior Quantitative Analyst / Data Scientist to join our New York based team. This role sits at the intersection of quantitative modeling, portfolio analytics and will serve as the primary technical liaison between modeling and investment teams.
The position offers high visibility across quant, risk, portfolio management, and technology, with direct exposure to live strategy performance and research development.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical bridge between quantitative modeling, Data Scientist, and portfolio analysis teams.
- Translate complex model updates into clear insights for investment, risk, and technology stakeholders.
- Monitor model and portfolio performance; identify drift, anomalies, and risk exposures.
- Provide analysts with real-time insights on research engagement, signal efficacy, and strategy performance.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools.
- Support data validation, model implementation, and analytics automation.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in quantitative research, data science, or financial analytics (internships included).
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and performance metrics used in asset management
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy); working knowledge of SQL.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in a quantitative field. (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related discipline).
