About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Azure Application Architect who brings both Microsoft Fabric depth and Azure cloud-architecture breadth.
You’ll lead the migration of a large-scale, multi-regional analytics platform (currently on Databricks) to Microsoft Fabric, while architecting how it integrates with the broader Azure-based applications and services landscape.
This role blends application-level thinking with Fabric specialization — ideal for someone who can design system-wide data flows, prototype solutions, and work closely with distributed engineering teams to make them real.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Lead the end-to-end migration from Databricks to Microsoft Fabric, defining scalable, secure, and cost-efficient architectures.
- Design application-integrated data systems that connect Fabric components (OneLake, Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI) with APIs, services, and reporting tools.
- Define blueprints for ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption within the Azure ecosystem.
- Implement Microsoft Purview-based governance and authorization frameworks.
- Ensure multi-region scalability and performance for data ingestion and reporting across 6–7 countries.
Implementation & Collaboration
- Build proofs of concept (POCs) to evaluate Fabric capabilities, demonstrate solutions, and guide engineering teams.
- Work collaboratively with onshore and offshore data engineers — guide, review, and troubleshoot without working in silos.
- Engage stakeholders to align architecture decisions with business objectives.
- Partner with cloud teams to integrate data architecture with Azure App Services, Logic Apps, API Management, and DevOps pipelines.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor teams on Fabric best practices and architecture patterns.
- Champion Azure cloud-native design and Microsoft Fabric adoption.
- Ensure solution integrity across development, security, governance, and deployment phases.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in application or solution architecture on cloud platforms, with at least 2+ years hands-on in Microsoft Fabric.
- 13+ years of overall software engineering experience
- Proven experience migrating workloads from Databricks (Delta Lake) to Microsoft Fabric (OneLake / Lakehouse).
- Strong understanding of Azure services — Synapse, Data Factory, Logic Apps, API Management, App Services, and DevOps.
- Hands-on ability to prototype, experiment, and validate Fabric components (not just design on paper).
- Deep familiarity with Purview, governance, security, and cost optimization.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills — must work effectively with global teams.
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
