JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience in Java-based test automation, API testing, and performance testing.
This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks to support CI/CD pipelines, along with ensuring high-quality delivery across complex enterprise systems.
Depending on experience, candidates will contribute as hands-on automation engineers or take ownership of framework design, test strategy, and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain test automation frameworks for CI/CD pipelines
Design and execute API automation testing for REST-based services
Build and enhance automation scripts using Java, Cucumber, Karate, and JMeter
Perform functional, integration, and end-to-end system testing
Develop and execute performance/load testing scenarios using JMeter
Collaborate with Product Owners and development teams to understand requirements and resolve issues
Create, maintain, and execute automated regression test suites
Write and manage test cases, test data, and validation scripts
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)
Design and architect scalable automation frameworks
Define test strategy and test plans aligned with business requirements
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA teams (onshore/offshore)
Drive best practices in automation, CI/CD, and quality engineering
Required Technical Skills
Strong programming experience in Java
Hands-on experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave, or similar)
Solid experience in API testing (REST Web Services)
Experience in test automation framework design/development
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
Experience with performance testing using JMeter
Experience in integration and end-to-end system testing
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
Understanding of Agile/Lean methodologies
Preferred Skills
Experience with Python
Exposure to AWS or cloud platforms
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Experience with API gateways (e.g., Apigee)
Understanding of microservices architecture
Exposure to TDD and code review practices
Experience in penetration/security testing (nice to have)
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience Range:
SDET: 2 4 years of relevant experience
Sr. SDET: 8+ years of experience with strong leadership and framework design expertise
