Counterintelligence Threat Technical Analyst

Our organization is in search of a dedicated and customer-focused Counterintelligence Threat Technical Analyst to become part of our team located in Springfield, VA.

The role of the Counterintelligence Threat Technical Analyst involves utilizing a robust technical foundation and expertise to assist the Sponsor s objectives by delivering specialized threat assessments and cyber defense assistance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring the timely and precise completion of reports, while making certain that all activities adhere to established timelines and standard operating procedures.
• Providing written and technical insights to support forensic documentation, CI Cyber investigations, and regular monthly, quarterly, and annual CI Cyber Threat reports.
• Identifying unusual network behavior through data analysis, assessing intrusion detection systems, incident tickets, event and log evaluations, and monitoring security changes.
• Conducting comprehensive threat assessments, producing forecasts and alerts, and suggesting effective countermeasures to reduce risks.
• Examining malicious code to ascertain attack vectors, payloads, and the extent of damage, while recommending corrective measures.
• Translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications and documenting best practices and lessons learned for quality assurance purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED, accompanied by over 6 years of progressively responsible experience in Network Analysis.
• A Bachelor s degree may replace 2 years of experience, while a Master s degree can substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Proven experience in identifying, interpreting, and analyzing network artifacts.
• Capability to obtain or possess certification in compliance with DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance (IA) IATIII requirements within one calendar year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited federal or DoD CI training academy.
• A Bachelor s or advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
• Holding a DoD Cyber Crimes Investigator certification.
• Extensive experience with malware analysis and cyber risk automation tools.

Clearance Requirements

• An active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be capable of remaining in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
• Occasional movement within the office is necessary to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
• Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients is required, which may include delivering presentations. Accurate information exchange is essential in these interactions.
