Network Simulation | Cyber Deception | Autonomous Defense
Overview:
We are seeking an AI Network Engineer to design and operate high fidelity network simulations, cyber deception environments, and AI driven threat ranges used to train and test next generation autonomous cyber defense systems.
You will build realistic digital network environments where AI systems interact with simulated infrastructure, adversaries, and operational conditions. These environments generate data, train models, and enable rapid experimentation with defensive and adversarial AI.
This role sits at the intersection of network engineering, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
What You Will Do:
• Build large scale network simulation and emulation environments that replicate enterprise and mission networks
• Develop honeypots and cyber deception infrastructure to observe adversarial behavior
• Create synthetic cyber environments for training AI defense systems
• Integrate network telemetry with ML pipelines and AI agents
• Simulate adversarial campaigns, lateral movement, and network attacks
• Automate infrastructure using containers and infrastructure as code
What We Are Looking For
Strong experience with:
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, segmentation, VPNs)
• Network simulation tools such as GNS3, Mininet, ns3, EVE NG
• Cyber deception or honeypots (Cowrie, TPot, OpenCanary, Dionaea)
• Python and automation
• Linux networking and containerized infrastructure
• Cloud or hybrid network environments
Bonus experience with:
• AI or machine learning systems
• Reinforcement learning environments
• Cyber ranges or adversary emulation
• Defense or federal environments
Ideal Candidate:
An engineer excited about building realistic digital battle spaces for AI systems where networks, adversaries, and autonomous defenses interact.
Preferred:
• Experience with cyber ranges or adversarial simulation
• Experience supporting government or defense missions
• Active or eligible for Secret or Top Secret clearance.
