Role Summary
The Workday AMS Onshore Lead will serve as the primary client-facing owner for ongoing Workday HCM support services. This role is primarily functional in nature, with strong oversight of integrations, security, and reporting. The Lead will manage governance, SLA adherence, incident prioritization, and coordinate delivery with offshore Functional and Technical consultants.
This role is ideal for a senior Workday Functional consultant with prior AMS/support leadership experience.
Required Experience
- 7–10+ years of HRIS experience
- 5+ years of Workday Functional experience
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Core HCM
- Benefits
- Compensation
- Payroll support
- Security framework
- Reporting & Calculated Fields
- Prior experience in AMS / Production Support model
- Experience managing offshore delivery teams
- Strong understanding of Workday integrations (conceptual & troubleshooting level)
- Experience in SLA/KPI-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday HCM Certification
- Experience supporting multi-country deployments
- ITIL knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Prior client-facing governance leadership experience
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Governance Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for Workday AMS engagement
- Lead weekly/monthly governance calls
- Manage ticket intake, prioritization, and SLA adherence
- Provide KPI dashboards and service reporting
- Manage escalations and stakeholder communication
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Functional Leadership (Hands-On Oversight)
- Review and approve configuration updates across:
- Core HCM
- Benefits
- Compensation
- Payroll
- Absence
- Oversee business process framework updates
- Validate security role changes and compliance impact
- Guide complex reporting and calculated field logic
- Support payroll production cycles and issue resolution
- Perform impact analysis for Workday bi-annual releases
Technical Oversight (Non-Development)
- Provide functional guidance for integration issues
- Review integration impact and root cause analysis
- Coordinate with offshore technical consultant on:
- EIB
- Core Connectors
- Studio integrations
- Review integration design changes (no hands-on Studio build required)
- Oversee data loads and tenant migrations
Offshore Team Coordination
- Lead offshore Functional and Technical resources
- Allocate workload and ensure SLA compliance
- Conduct quality reviews of deliverables
- Ensure documentation and knowledge management standards
- Mentor team and maintain delivery consistency
