job summary:
Portfolio Description
The Energy Management (EM) department is responsible for the strategic planning, operational oversight, and analytical support of the company's energy supply and demand portfolio. The group operates at the intersection of energy markets, system reliability, regulatory compliance, and sustainability, supporting both near term operations and long term planning initiatives across electric and gas systems.
Energy Management encompasses multiple functional areas, including commodity operations, forecasting, resource management, and business operations, and plays a key role in balancing reliability, cost, and environmental objectives in a highly regulated environment. The organization develops and maintains analytical tools, data models, and control processes used to support market participation, regulatory filings, operational decision making, and performance reporting.
Engagement Summary
The Energy Management (EM) Commodity Operations team is seeking a hands-on contract resource to execute an end-to-end effort to review, optimize, and automate existing Commodity Operations processes. The contractor will be embedded with Commodity Operations and will take ownership of the full delivery lifecycle-assessing current-state workflows, defining and prioritizing improvements, designing the solution approach, and building/coding the final deliverables through implementation.
This engagement will require the contractor to partner directly with Commodity Operations stakeholders to capture operational needs, document current vs. future state, and translate requirements into an actionable delivery plan and backlog. The contractor will then develop and implement the solutions (including automation, workflow improvements, and supporting tooling), perform iterative validation with the business, and support end-to-end testing through User Acceptance Testing. The contractor will deliver the final product with appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer, and transition support to ensure the solutions are sustainable and usable by the Commodity Operations team.
