Summary

Overview

Susquehanna is a global quantitative trading firm powered by scientific rigor, curiosity, and innovation. Our culture is intellectually driven and highly collaborative, bringing together researchers, engineers, and traders to design and deploy impactful strategies in our systematic trading environment. To meet the unique challenges of global markets, Susquehanna applies machine learning and advanced quantitative research to vast datasets in order to uncover actionable insights and build effective strategies. By uniting deep market expertise with cutting-edge technology, we excel in solving complex problems and pushing boundaries together.

At Susquehanna, we believe great research demands great tools. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Research Tech team, which builds the applications, services, and platforms that support trading strategies and make research workflows more scalable across the firm. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, quantitative research, and production infrastructure - with meaningful ownership of the systems that researchers and traders rely on every day.

This is not your typical engineering job. You'll partner directly with quantitative researchers and trading leads on a daily basis - designing, building, and supporting the applications they use to explore ideas, run analyses, and put strategies into production. If you enjoy substantive engagement with the math and stats side of the work - and not just implementing what quants ask for - you'll find plenty of that here.

How you'll make an impact:
  • Build research applications, services, and platforms that support trading strategies - spanning beta analysis across baskets of stocks, news aggregation, trading-opinion workflows, and the production infrastructure needed to run these capabilities reliably
  • Partner directly with quantitative researchers and traders on a daily basis to understand their needs, translate them into working systems, and deliver features end-to-end from design through production
  • Improve production behavior of the platform - observability, debugging tooling, and performance tuning under load
  • Work across the full stack - C# and .NET backend services, React and JavaScript frontends, and Python for data-intensive services - collaborating with adjacent engineering teams across the firm and internationally

What you can expect from us:

Real Impact: By integrating sophisticated coding techniques with innovative engineering ideas, we design and optimize systems that can process massive amounts of data while still ensuring high performance and stability. You'll see how your contributions towards developing and supporting leading-edge hardware and software technologies make a firm-wide impact that makes us all smarter, faster, and better.

Collaboration: Our software engineers, quantitative researchers, and traders work together to create competitive edge through best-in-class research applications and infrastructure.

Growth: For many of our roles, we don't expect you to have prior industry experience in proprietary trading or financial services to succeed at Susquehanna International Group. We're looking for people who are naturally curious, relentless problem solvers, and have the desire to continuously innovate, learn, and grow.

Benefits: Susquehanna offers a wide array of employee perks & benefits. Learn more about the workplace culture & software engineer experience at Susquehanna International Group from technologists like you.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on experience in C#, Python, and React (or other modern JavaScript frameworks)
  • Full-stack comfort - backend services through frontend interfaces, with fluency across the languages above
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to iterate quickly with quantitative researchers, traders, and other developers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field

If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to Any resume or referral submitted in the absence of a signed agreement will not be eligible for an agency fee.
