Job Description:Support the External Manufacturing and Supplier Engineering teams while learning about manufacturing operations, process design, equipment, and supplier coordination. This is an entry-level, temporary position for a college student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience applying manufacturing engineering principles to external manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities- Support day-to-day external manufacturing and manufacturing engineering tasks under direct supervision.
- Collect, organize, and analyze operational and engineering data to support process reviews and improvement efforts.
- Assist engineers with process documentation: drafting/maintaining work instructions, SOPs, process flow diagrams, and basic PFMEA input.
- Participate in root-cause investigations by gathering data, running simple tests, and documenting findings for corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Kaizen fundamentals), help run small pilot projects, and track measurable outcomes.
- Prepare presentation slides, meeting notes, and status updates that translate engineering findings for stakeholders.
- Coordinate communications between internal engineering teams, quality, and external suppliers/vendors; help track supplier technical deliverables.
- Observe and assist in validation, qualification, and change control activities as assigned.
- Follow and promote company safety, quality and regulatory requirements; escalate technical or safety issues to supervisor.
Required Skills:- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Strong analytical thinking and comfort with data (collecting, cleaning, basic analysis).
- Good oral and written communication skills; able to present findings to small teams.
Preferred Skills: - Coursework or experience in statistics, operations research, process improvement, logistics, or supply chain.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma concepts, Kaizen, or value-stream mapping.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, JDE, etc.)

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The expected pay range for this position is between $31.00 per hour and $59.00 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
