Job Overview:

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience with MuleSoft.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Working knowledge of financial services compliance requirements.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 2 to 3+ years of experience leading an engineering team and owning technical direction and delivery.
  • Hands-on experience writing and reviewing production-quality code.
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
  • Experience designing and building REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Practical experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban.

Experience:

  • Experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience in financial services, automotive, or another regulated industry is preferred.
  • Experience leading or playing a central role in legacy modernization, re-platforming, or migration programs.
  • Experience with API-first and event-driven integration design.
  • Experience contributing to architecture decisions and cloud migration strategies.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, and reporting or data warehouse integrations.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices across teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team day to day by setting direction, unblocking team members, reviewing work in progress, and maintaining clear visibility into delivery status.
  • Take accountability for the team s technical output, ensuring solutions are well-designed, properly tested, and production-ready.
  • Run or contribute to sprint ceremonies with a focus on technical readiness and story quality.
  • Manage technical dependencies across workstreams, identify risks early, and resolve delivery blockers.
  • Communicate delivery status and technical risks clearly to engineering leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into sound technical solutions.
  • Lead the assessment and incremental modernization of legacy platforms, including decomposition of monolithic applications into independently deployable services.
  • Define and drive re-platforming strategies to reduce technical debt without disrupting live services.
  • Champion API-first and event-driven design patterns as legacy integrations are modernized.
  • Support migration of workloads to cloud environments and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Maintain visibility into technical debt and ensure it is addressed in planning.
  • Own technical delivery for new product enhancements from design through production release.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Ensure new capabilities are scalable, well-tested, observable, and operationally documented.
  • Contribute to delivery planning and estimation with realistic effort and timeline assessments.
  • Work with Security and Compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory requirements including PCI DSS, SOX, and data privacy obligations.
  • Lead the technical design and delivery of internal and dealer-facing portal applications.
  • Establish frontend architecture standards for portal development, including component structure, state management, and API consumption patterns.
  • Provide technical input during product and UX design reviews.
  • Ensure accessibility and resilience are treated as core requirements in portal development.
  • Design and implement reliable data integration patterns across platforms.
  • Work with Data and Analytics teams to ensure platform data is modeled correctly and surfaced through dependable reporting pipelines.
  • Lead the build of reconciliation, audit, and financial reporting features with strong accuracy and traceability.
  • Drive the development of operational dashboards and internal reporting tools.
  • Ensure all data flows comply with enterprise data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Set and uphold engineering standards across code quality, testing strategy, API design, CI/CD practices, and observability.
  • Conduct code reviews and technical design reviews, providing constructive feedback to engineers.
  • Mentor engineers across different experience levels and support their growth.
  • Contribute to shared engineering practices and knowledge-sharing across the broader engineering organization.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies and industry practices and bring pragmatic improvements into the team.

Should Have:

  • Experience with Python for automation, scripting, and data pipeline development.
  • Experience with AWS serverless, containerized, and managed service patterns.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or enterprise-grade databases.
  • Experience with MongoDB or key-value/document stores.
  • Experience with React or Angular for portal and internal tooling applications.
  • Experience with enterprise component-based frontend development.
  • Strong understanding of observability, accessibility, and resilient system design.
