Summary

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer (Tier 2) to serve as a senior onsite escalation point and technical authority. This role requires strong independent troubleshooting capabilities, excellent customer service judgment, and hands-on expertise supporting enterprise endpoints and printing environments in a hybrid workplace.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary onsite escalation resource, independently troubleshooting and resolving complex Tier 2 technical issues end-to-end
  • Take full ownership of incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders
  • Provide advanced support for Windows and macOS endpoints, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Manage and troubleshoot enterprise printing environments, including printer queues, drivers, permissions, and connectivity issues
  • Support hybrid workforce environments, including remote and onsite users
  • Collaborate with remote infrastructure and network teams as the local "hands and feet" for troubleshooting and implementation
  • Analyze recurring issues and recommend improvements to systems, processes, or configurations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and technical procedures
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while supporting both staff and leadership

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a Desktop Support or Tier 2 support role in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Hands-on experience supporting both Windows and macOS systems
  • Strong experience with enterprise printing systems and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, wired/wireless connectivity)
  • Experience working in hybrid environments supporting both onsite and remote users

Preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments with distributed teams
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Apple certifications) are a plus

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake Placid, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
