Summary

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the implementation of a LabWare LIMS solution.

This role requires a senior-level consultant who will act as a technical liaison between laboratory operations, IT teams, and project management, ensuring effective communication, workflow alignment, and successful system adoption.

The ideal candidate will bring deep LIMS expertise, strong stakeholder communication skills, and hands-on experience with laboratory workflows and system implementations.



Key Responsibilities

LIMS Expertise & Implementation Support

  • Provide subject matter expertise in LIMS systems, specifically LabWare LIMS.
  • Support implementation activities and ensure alignment with laboratory operations.
  • Assist in transitioning from legacy systems (e.g., Horizon) to the new LIMS platform.

Communication & Coordination

  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication across lab staff, IT teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Translate laboratory, technical, and operational requirements into actionable insights.
  • Act as the primary onsite liaison between project teams and lab personnel.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Deployment

  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities onsite.
  • Assist with workflow validation and deployment readiness.
  • Ensure successful execution of testing scenarios and timely issue resolution.

Issue Tracking & Risk Management

  • Identify, document, and track risks, issues, and operational challenges.
  • Escalate critical concerns to project leadership and stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide recommendations for issue resolution and process improvements.

Training & Change Management

  • Support laboratory staff during system adoption and training.
  • Identify gaps in workflows and recommend process and system improvements.
  • Contribute to change management strategies for smooth implementation.

Workflow & System Troubleshooting

  • Analyze and resolve workflow issues within the LIMS environment.
  • Ensure system configurations align with laboratory operations and compliance requirements.

Project Governance

  • Review project status reports and provide feedback.
  • Participate in regular project status meetings and stakeholder discussions.
  • Maintain a full-time onsite presence to support all project activities.



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Strong experience with LabWare LIMS implementation and support.
  • Deep understanding of clinical laboratory workflows and operations.
  • Experience supporting UAT, system deployment, and workflow optimization.
  • Proven ability to act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public health or clinical laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems such as Horizon.
  • Experience in change management and training support.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale system implementations.
