Summary

We are seeking a Certified Workday Payroll Consultant to lead and support Workday Payroll initiatives including configuration, testing, integrations, and production stabilization. You will partner with HR/Finance stakeholders to deliver compliant payroll processing, improve payroll operations, and ensure successful deployments across payroll cycles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Workday Payroll (U.S. payroll; other countries a plus)
  • Gather requirements and translate them into Workday configuration and functional designs
  • Configure earnings/deductions, pay groups, pay components, calc rules, tax setup support (as applicable), retro, and year‑end readiness
  • Lead testing (unit, end‑to‑end, parallel), defect triage, and payroll validation
  • Support payroll cutover, go‑live, and hypercare; troubleshoot production issues
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams for Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, HCM touchpoints
  • Design/document business processes, security roles (as applicable), and operational runbooks
  • Support integrations and data flows (e.g., inbound/outbound payroll interfaces, vendor feeds)

Required Qualifications

  • Workday Payroll Certification (active) – required
  • 5+ years of experience in Workday Payroll configuration/implementation/support
  • Strong knowledge of payroll operations and compliance practices
  • Experience with Workday configuration: pay groups, earnings/deductions, calc rules, retro/period schedules
  • Hands‑on experience with testing and payroll reconciliation
  • Strong communication skills (client‑facing, workshop facilitation, documentation)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Time Tracking / Absence and how it impacts payroll
  • Workday integrations experience (e.g., EIB, reports, APIs; Studio a plus)
  • Experience with Workday Security concepts relevant to Payroll
  • Multi‑state or multi‑country payroll exposure
  • Prior implementation partner / consulting background
