Position Summary
The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for retaining, expanding, and strengthening relationships within an assigned book of existing clients. This role owns the long-term client relationship and serves as the primary commercial and relationship lead for non VCIO accounts. For vCIO assigned accounts, the AM acts as a key collaborator with the vCIO in carrying out client initiatives and moving their business forward with Cantey Tech services.
This role helps drive client satisfaction, alignment to services, and ongoing value realization.
Through structured, ongoing engagement, the Account Manager develops a deep understanding of each client’s business, industry pressures, and risk profile. The AM works closely with vCIOs, Service Delivery, and Sales Leadership to identify opportunities to improve the client’s IT, cybersecurity, and AI maturity while driving additional recurring revenue.
Core Responsibilities
• Act as the primary relationship owner for non vCIO assigned accounts
• Act as a key support collaborator for vCIO assigned accounts
• Maintain regular, value-driven client engagement
• Identify expansion opportunities within existing clients
• Conduct structured discovery and align findings to Cantey Tech solutions
• Collaborate closely with vCIOs, Service Delivery, and Sales Leadership
• Prepare and present professional proposals
• Maintain accurate CRM documentation
• Protect and drive Cantey Tech’s 97% client retention rate
Sales Expectations
• Client meetings: 12 per month
• Proposals presented: 8 per month
• Closed recurring managed security services revenue: $1,000 MRR per month
Requirements
• 2–5 years experience in IT services or cybersecurity sales or account management
• Strong consultative selling mindset
• Excellent communication and relationship skills
• Professional demeanor and time management discipline
• CRM and Microsoft 365 proficiency
• Relevant Microsoft certifications a plus
