  • Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers to optimize and streamline the development process.
  • Develop partnerships around the company to learn from other teams' successes and evangelize innovations.
  • Write maintainable, scalable, and performant code that powers some of Chewy's most prominent experiences.
  • Help innovate in the support process for the in-market, at-scale usage of the models, increasing the reliability and decreasing the cost of investigation.
  • Be a fully responsible owner of a diverse service infrastructure, from model development and deployment through the lifecycle.
  • Take a leadership role in the team's process to mentor and demonstrate effective agile techniques like CI/CD.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or the equivalent work experience
  • Experience in software development using Python
  • Experience with creating, training, and operating data science models in AWS
  • 7+ years of experience designing, building, deploying, operating, scaling, and evolving distributed systems for a high-volume transaction application in a 24/7 environment
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to spend a significant percentage of your time writing code, designing solutions, and debugging tricky issues
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based environment
  • The ability to lead innovation, both within the team and to other organizations
  • Currently based in or willing to relocate to the Seattle, WA area

Bonus:
  • Experience in e-commerce/retail
  • Experience with Java web services (e.g. Spring Boot) or TypeScript
  • Experience with Lambdas and Step Function workflows in AWS
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development process
