Description
We are looking for a Database Administrator with a strong background in database administration to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to meet business needs while ensuring optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex database solutions and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
Assess database requirements by engaging with stakeholders and analyzing current and future application needs.
Design and recommend database structures, security protocols, and backup and recovery strategies tailored to business objectives.
Develop technical specifications for application upgrades and new implementations, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Collaborate with project managers, system owners, and vendors to coordinate installation requirements and schedules.
Create detailed project plans and timelines for database installations and software releases.
Implement database systems based on technical requirements and business processes.
Optimize database performance by configuring parameters and deploying updates for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
Monitor and fine-tune database systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
Provide technical guidance and support for cloud-based database solutions, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in database technologies to recommend improvements and innovative solutions.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in database administration or related IT roles.
Proficiency in managing Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL.
Hands-on experience with Oracle databases and Oracle DBA tools.
Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of database systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
