Description
Social Manager
We're looking for a social media producer to join our social team. This role is
responsible for developing original content for the official @instagram social media
accounts -- with a particular focus on entertainment and music programming. This
person needs first-hand experience creating best-in-class social content optimized for
the Instagram platform. They should be deeply immersed in social media, internet
culture and trends, and have demonstrated particular focus and interest in the worlds of
entertainment, music and pop culture.
The ideal candidate is highly creative and an experienced multi-platform storyteller (long
and short-form original video production). They must be organized, detail oriented and
thrive in a multi-tasking, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. They must have
demonstrated the ability to create social content, have video and photo production skills
(editing skills a bonus) and have experience working directly with public figure talent.
The candidate should have strong communication and social skills, be eager and willing
to take on photo and video shoots autonomously and have the ability to deliver and
launch initiatives on time, on budget, and on strategy with the tone and style of
@Instagram.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and produce original content and assets for social media, namely
@instagram on Instagram and related channels
Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content for use on @instagram
social
Curate best in class content from global creators to be shared onto @instagram
Manage the creative production process, including story ideation and creation of
visual assets, overseeing information sharing, and helping execute the post-
production responsibilities
Oversee external content capture teams (photo and video contractors), which
includes providing clear and actionable creative direction, managing budgets and
timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet Instagram's high standards of quality
Manage cross-functional relationships and information sharing between internal
teams
Manage relationships with external partners and networks and serve as a liaison
between partners and Instagram editorial
Analyze data to inform creative decision-making with regards to individual
creative and long-term strategy
Manage project statements of work, estimates and related parameters
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Film, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related
discipline
3+ years of experience in a creative role with an emphasis on creating assets for
social media
Experience running projects with multiple stakeholders
Experience managing external creative and production partners
Experience building working relationships with core and cross-functional teams
Demonstrated experience working in creative production for an international
audience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience developing content about entertainment, music and pop culture
On the ground, on set production experience
Visual portfolio of published work
Proficient with Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects
Experience working within a creative department that places priority on visual
storytelling
Able to work and thrive in a self-starter, fast-paced and changing environment
Great people skills. Genuinely interested in and enjoys getting to work and
interact with people all over the world.

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
