We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer for an onsite role in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will lead complex data engineering and migration efforts, modernizing database infrastructures from legacy SQL Server environments to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL while engineering robust, enterprise-grade data pipelines.

responsibilities:
- Analyze legacy SQL Server schemas, T-SQL code, views, and stored procedures to design comprehensive PostgreSQL migration strategies.
- Convert and optimize T-SQL database objects for Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, resolving compatibility gaps and tuning performance.
- Design, build, and maintain production ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Python (Boto3), and Apache Airflow.
- Execute schema conversion, data migration, data validation, testing, and production cutovers.
- Provide troubleshooting and performance stabilization support post-cutover.
qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
Deep technical expertise in Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL database architecture (indexing, execution plan analysis, partitioning, tuning).
Extensive experience converting and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) workloads to PostgreSQL.
Proven track record building enterprise data pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, and Apache Airflow in cloud environments.
Ability to work 100% onsite in Columbus, OH.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) and Amazon MWAA.
Hands-on knowledge of PySpark, AWS Lambda, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
Familiarity with enterprise AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
